Healthy Junk Food

I can’t even explain how amazing it felt to stay in bed until 7 am today! 😀 Baby gave us another great night of sleep, sleeping 10 hours straight at one point. Needless to say, all three of us were in very good moods this morning!

This breakfast added to my happy mood, too!

I took baby out to run some errands with me this morning, and then spent the rest of the morning applying for jobs. (As promising, as the other job seems, I don’t want to put all of my eggs in one basket!) My work paid off this morning too. I now have a phone interview for another job tomorrow afternoon. Geeze – it’s either feast or famine when it comes to these job interviews!

Lunch was pretty light today. I was full all morning thanks to all that almond butter!

Protein shake: 1 cup of almond milk, 2 tbs of NutriBiotic vanilla brown rice protein powder, 1 tbs of cocoa powder, 1 banana, 2 packets of stevia

Of course, I ended up needing a snack though.

I spent the afternoon just playing and laughing with baby. Oh – I almost forgot to mention one of the most exciting parts of my day! I discovered that baby has her first tooth poking through her gums! 🙂

I had taken out chicken for dinner, but had absolutely no idea what I was going to do with it. Then I looked in the pantry and saw a recipe on the back of my container of chicken broth for chicken and autumn vegetables.  I didn’t have sweet potatoes on hand, so I subbed in carrots. It came out pretty good!

My husband put baby to bed again. He is becoming the master of all things baby! 😉 That freed me up to get my exercise in – 45 sweaty minutes on my Spinning bike.

I was soooooooo hungry when I was done, so I grabbed a blueberry Z bar.

These Z bars feel like such an indulgence to me! I think they’re my favorite healthy “junk” food.

  1. chobani, because it tastes so sweet and fruity and I put almond butter in it, but really such a great protein source on top of being super yummy!
